| John LaMacchia

Symphonic Band Mr. LaMacchia received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Education from Ohio State University, having done his student teaching with composer and arranger, Jim Swearingen. Mr. LaMacchia served as a Graduate Assistant and arranger for the Ohio State University Marching Band with adjudication experience in numerous marching band competitions. He has taught instrumental music in the public school system in Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, and Tennessee for nearly ten years. Mr. LaMacchia has served as conductor of the KCYB Symphonic Band since 2002 and Guest Conductor of the Tennessee Homeschool Rally Day Honors Band since 2005. All three of his sons have been or are currently members of KCYB. He and his wife, Ann, have been married for 25 years and attend Cornerstone Church of Knoxville. |

Amy Kornegay
|
Concert (Intermediate) Band Mrs. Kornegay received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Eastern Illinois University where she was principal French Horn of the wind ensemble and orchestra as well as drum major of the marching band. She has taught band and orchestra for six years in Illinois and California. Her ensembles consistently received high marks at competitions and festivals. While living near St. Louis, Missouri, Amy was a member of the St. Louis Wind Symphony, the University City Orchestra, Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Gateway Brass Quintet. She enjoyed judging various concert, marching band, and solo/ensemble festivals. KCYB's influence is also reaching into one of Knoxville's premier homeschool coops, Thursday Connection. Amy is serving as the band instructor at Thursday Connection. She attends Redeemer Church of Knoxville. |

Tim Willis |
Jazz Band Mr. Willis received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Tennessee Technological University. After graduation in 1988, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a musician. He has performed with and led every type of musical group in the Army Band field, from marching and concert band to jazz ensemble and popular vocal groups. His duty assignments have taken him around the world and he has performed for numerous dignitaries to include three U.S. Presidents. He deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division Band and is retiring after twenty two years active duty. He is moving back to East Tennessee to attend UTK to complete his Masters in Music Education and to return to the public school systems.
