ALL KCYB Band Announcements
The KCYB Pancake Breakfast is March 20, 2010 from 8:00 to 9:30. It is at Applebee's on Peter's Road, and the cost is $5.00 for AYCE. Volunteers will need to be at the restaurant for training at 7:25, and we will be finished at 10:00.
We need adult help for:
- * Making Coffee
- * Serving coffee
- * Hostessing
- * Greeting and taking money and tickets
- * Supervising an area of the restaurant (4 to 6 areas of 6 to 8
- tables each)
- * Preparing butter and syrup
We need student help for:
- * Preparing Drinks
- * Serving drinks
- * Taking orders and serving plates
- * Assisting dishwasher
- * Rolling silverware (correctly and with clean hands)
- * Hawk at the street corner (persons with sense enough to not get
- into danger)
ALL HANDS:
- * CLEANING THE RESTAURANT (wipe tables and seats, run carpet sweeper)
The menu is Pancakes and 2 Link Sausages. Our job is to take orders and serve tables, assist dishwasher, roll and replace all silverware, and leave the restaurant clean by 10:00. We cannot seat anyone after 9:30 for this reason. It is very important for volunteers to be at the kitchen for the 7:30 training.
Persons serving plates need to know that they are hot (expo window is 250 degrees F), and it helps if you can handle 3 plates at once. You must work in 2's or 3's to get an entire table served without a long wait. Wicker pads are placed under hot plates or you can use a tray. I recommend that if you want to eat, (and the point is for us all to enjoy the breakfast), agree with the people in your area as to when you will eat, and serve yourself. Please don't let younger siblings into the kitchen, as they really slow down the process.
We will have pre-sell tickets at our next band rehearsal, or persons can pay at the door.
